(PIX WEATHER CENTER)– After having what turned out to be a beautiful spring afternoon, a cold front moves through the area tonight giving a few showers for the city.
The showers will be scattered about and the last through early tomorrow morning.
Rain amounts will be on the light side with as much of a quarter of an inch possible.
Skies clear out tomorrow morning leaving the afternoon with mostly sunny skies. Despite the passage of the cold front, temperatures will still be mild on the mild side.
Highs for most of the area will end up in the upper 60s due to the westerly winds. Long Island and the Jersey shoreline will be a little cooler as a sea breeze will form keeping temperatures at around 60 degrees.
Winds turn southwesterly allowing temperatures to return to the lower 70s by Sunday.
Coastal areas will be cooler with highs in the 60s.
The mild weather continues for Monday however clouds start to move in by the afternoon as the next system moves in for Tuesday.
