NEW YORK (PIX11) — After two days of warm, sunny weather, a weak cold front will approach the Tri-State area bringing scattered showers throughout the day Friday.

The high temperature will be around 66 degrees this afternoon in NYC, and will be cooler over coastal Long Island and Connecticut.  Showers will continue overnight as the front makes its way through the region.

Saturday looks to be mostly sunny and mild with highs near 67 degrees for the city, and low- to mid-50s over Eastern Long Island, mid- to upper-60s over interior sections.

Sunday will feature a mix of sun and clouds as an onshore wind will develop and bring chilly air off the ocean. Afternoon highs will reach the 40s on Eastern Long Island while NYC and interior sections will be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.

The next chance of rain will be on Tuesday as a storm system moves through the region with a soaking rain and some wind.

This will be the leading edge of cooler air arriving from Canada. High temperatures by the middle of next week are expected to struggle to reach the mid-50s.
