It’s official!  Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert has been picked to replace David Letterman when he leaves sometime next year.

Colbert signed a five year deal with CBS.

His hit fake news show “The Colbert Report” will end at the end of this year.

Colbert is 49 and brings a huge social media following, the way Jimmy Fallon did when he took over the “Tonight Show.”

Letterman has about 300,00 Twitter followers while Colbert has more than 6-million!
