2 NYPD officers injured rescuing people from burning Brooklyn building

WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Two cops suffered minor injuries as they helped pull residents out of a burning Brooklyn building Thursday.

The fire started in the rear of the four-story apartment building on Scholes Street around 1 p.m.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in under an hour.

The two police officers were taken to Woodhull Hospital due to difficulty breathing, the NYPD said.

Both officers are in stable condition.

No others were hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
