NEW YORK (PIX11) — High pressure will be in control of our weather for the next few days, bringing a period of tranquil conditions.

New York City will see plenty of sunshine Wednesday with high temperatures near 60 degrees for the city, and high temperatures in the low 60s for the suburbs.

Wednesday night will be mostly clear and cool with seasonable low temperatures in the low 40s with light winds.

Thursday will feature an encore performance as high pressure remains firmly anchored over the region.  And high temperatures will be a bit warmer: in the mid-60s for the city, and high-60s for the suburbs.

The next chance of rain will come late Friday as a cold front is expected to approach the area from the west.  Expect rain showers to develop and move through into Saturday morning.  Temperatures will be in the mid-60s for NYC and the suburbs.

Saturday will feature early morning showers before skies begin to clear and temperatures will remain above normal for the Tri-State Area. Highs will be in the mid-60s for the city and upper-60s for the suburbs.

The remainder of the weekend looks to be fairly quiet with seasonable temperatures.
