NEW YORK (PIX11) – Showers continue as a slow moving area of low pressure makes its way to the eastern seaboard. It was dramatically cooler as the easterly breeze allowed temperatures to be stuck in the lower 40s through the day.
As the accompanying cold front passes at around midnight or so, a rumble of thunder could pop up. The showers eventually will taper off afterwards and skies will begin to clear out early Saturday morning. Temperatures are expected to go nowhere tonight with lows near 40 degrees.
The weekend will turn out to be much better with plenty of sunshine. There will be a cool northwesterly breeze with wind gusts as high a 35 mph keeping temperatures in the 50s through the weekend. Overall, considering how the work week has ended, we’ll take it. Make note, with the milder temperatures coming up and the breezy conditions tomorrow, the pollen count for trees will be quite high.
The next system arrives by Monday night in part of Tuesday. At least, with storm, temperatures will stay on the mild side at around the upper 50s to around 60.
