NEW YORK (PIX11) – High pressure moves offshore and will continue to bring mild temperatures for tomorrow. A weak cold front moves in giving just the chance of a shower in a few spots. Nonetheless it will be a decent day for the second day of April.

The cold front drifts to our south and holds stationary on Thursday. The day will end up mainly cloudy with a few breaks of sunshine. With front nearby, a few showers could develop throughout the day.

By Friday an area of low pressure will move in allowing for widespread showers. At this point, we’re not expecting the deluge that we got this past weekend but heavy downpours along with a few rumbles of thunder are possible. The system is expected to leave the area by late Friday night leaving us as nice weekend.

Despite the unsettled period of on and off showers for the next 3 days, temperatures are expected to stay on the mild side. Highs tomorrow will be in the lower 60s. Behind the cold front, temperatures will only drop into the 50s.

Heading into next week, there is no sign that temperatures will turn to the chilly side.
