Jamaica, QUEENS (PIX11) — Police are searching for a cab driver who struck and dragged a Taxi and Limousine Commission lieutenant in Queens.

Police say it happened around 1:30 p.m Saturday afternoon on the corner of Archer Avenue and Sutphine Boulevard in Jamaica.

A TLC spokesperson says the female lieutenant and an inspector were making a routine car stop for suspected illegal street hails by the Jamaica LIRR station.

A cab driver suddenly went into reverse with the passenger door open, hitting the lieutenant and dragging her.

The lieutenant was taken to Jamaica hospital with cuts on her head.
