Police release photos of suspect in attempted rape in Queens

Astoria, QUEENS (PIX11) — Police have released new information on a suspect wanted in an attempted rape last month in Queens.

A new surveillance photo has been released of the man they suspect tried to rape a young woman in Astoria on Feb. 24.


According to police, the 22-year-old woman was walking on 30 Avenue around 3:25 a.m. when the suspect approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground.

The victim was able to fight off the suspect and he fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 30’s, 5-foot-7 and weighs 145 pounds.
