NEW YORK (PIX11) — Police are looking for the man they say tried to rape a woman in her Harlem apartment building.

Officials say the man approached the woman as she checked her mail inside the lobby of her building March 10.

The suspect grabbed the woman’s phone, and she grabbed it back and ran up to her apartment.

The man followed her, cops say, attempting to steal the phone again and take off the woman’s blouse.

The woman fought back and yelled, causing the man to flee the apartment.

Police describe the suspect as 5’7″ and was last seen wearing a beige coat and black hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
