NEW YORK (PIX11) – Want to pass up on that extra slice of cake, then try playing a round of Tetris.

According to a new study published in the journal Appetite, playing Tetris can stop food and nicotine cravings.

Researchers found people who played the game as opposed to those who just sat in front of a computer screen waiting for a page to load had weaker cravings.

The study says playing the game – manipulating the colored shapes at fitting them together – occupies the same area of the brain that thinks about food, smoking or even sex.
