(PIX11 WEATHER CENTER) — We will see plenty of sunshine Tuesday as high pressure will pass to the north of the region.

Temperatures will be a bit milder in the afternoon with highs in the low 40s in NYC, with mid 40s south and west. Wednesday will start off sunny in the morning and then clouds will roll in toward evening as a cold front approaches the area.  High temperatures will be in the mid 40s for the afternoon.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy in the morning with showers and thunderstorms possible. Temperatures will be even milder with highs climbing to near the 50 degree mark. The mild air will last well into the weekend as high pressure brings air from the Gulf of Mexico into the region.

We should remain dry through the end of the work week before another cold front will advance from the Midwest and bring a chance of showers on Saturday.

After this front passes late Saturday there will be a return to the unseasonably cold air on Sunday as Canadian high pressure moves into the tri-state area.
