Snow by numbers: Just how much snow has fallen?

NEW YORK (PIX11) — As yet another snow storm approaches, it feels like the never ending winter.

Just how bad has it been? Numbers don’t lie.

According to the National Weather Service, 57.3 inches of snow have fallen this winter season in Central Park.

Last year at this time, it was only 18.8 inches of snow.

So far, it’s the 7th snowiest winter since 1869.

While the snow has piled up, there have been no snow days for New York City public schools.

Spring is just 20 days away but according to the PIX11 weather team, snow is normal in New York for March and even April.

The latest recorded snow in New York City was a trace on May 9th, 1977.
