MANHATTAN (PIX11) — The famed and pioneering discount department store Loehmann’s is closing today, the remaining shops falling under the weight of the company’s bankruptcy.
Deals at the stores are reportedly extraordinary, with discounts of as much as 90 percent for certain items, the retail blog Racked reports.

But don’t hold your breath for breadth of items. Racked reports the Chelsea store was down to just seven pairs of shoes last night — at least, that was the number on display.
