Tornado Watch issued for parts of New Jersey

NEW JERSEY (PIX11) — The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for parts of New Jersey, and strong thunderstorms are have pushed through parts of the Garden State.

Winds in excess of 60 mph are possible with this thunderstorm.  Meanwhile, rain, heavy at times, will sweep through New York City shortly after 3 p.m.

In New Jersey, flood advisories are in effect in several counties through 6: 45  p.m.

The Tornado Watch is in effect for the following counties until 5 p.m.:

  • Atlantic
  • Burlington
  • Camden
  • Cape May
  • Cumberland
  • Gloucester
  • Hunterdon
  • Mercer
  • Middlesex
  • Monmouth
  • Ocean
  • Salem
  • Somerset
