LOS ANGELES (LATIMES/PIX11) — Former Los Angeles news anchor Bree Walker was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Anaheim, police said Wednesday night.

Walker, 61, was stopped at 12:35 a.m. near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Ball Road and was arrested at 1:47 a.m., said Anaheim Lt. Tim Schmidt.

She was booked and released.

Walker was a respected fixture on L.A. television and worked at KCBS-TV Channel 2 in the 1980s and 1990s.

She was also an anchor for WCBS New York in the late 1980s.

She was caught up in an on-air scandal in 1990 when she became romantically involved with co-anchor Jim Lampley while they were still married to other people.

The two later married but were divorced in 2000.

Walker has a congenital hand deformity and became a high-profile advocate for disability awareness.

Anchor Jim Jensen of WCBS infamously asked Walker on air if her parents would have aborted her if they had known about her condition beforehand.
