UPPER EAST SIDE (PIX11) – New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and schools chancellor Carmen Farina and  came under fire Thursday for keeping schools open despite driving snow and sleet — with some of the harshest criticism coming from the young, adorable schoolchildren who made up the 44% attendance.

Students like PS 198 second-graders Eliot and Miles had strong words for de Blasio and put them down in a letter to the mayor, which they read for PIX11 cameras.
