Selfie Thieves

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Selfies took down a couple of alleged cell phone thieves in Brooklyn.

According to police, Tyquan Solomon, 19, on Thursday and Terrance Sistrunk, 16, used the same iPhone they allegedly stole to pose for a selfie — one with a fistful of cash.

Back on Feb. 2 in Fort Greene, a 22-year-old man was walking home around 1 a.m.  when he was accosted by two males.  The two men pulled what used what he believed was a black pistol in the stickup, and made away with the victim’s iPhone and $205 in cash.

The victim checked his iCloud some hours later, police say, and discovered it had taken little time for the suspects to incriminate themselves with the photos.

Solomon and Sistrunk both face five counts of robbery.
