MTA driver killed, 4 injured after stolen truck collides with bus in Greenwich Village

NEW YORK (PIX11) — An MTA bus driver is dead and several others injured after a stolen truck collided with a bus in Greenwich Village Wednesday morning.

Police say the stolen delivery truck smashed into the M14D bus, sending both vehicles into a scaffolding at 14th Street and Seventh Avenue just before 6 a.m.

The driver of the bus was possibly thrown from the vehicle, sources say. Four others were injured, two critically.

The suspect driving the stolen truck is in custody.

The area where the accident occurred remains closed for investigation.
