City issues snow alert for Saturday’s storm

NEW YORK (PIX11) – The New York City Department of Sanitation has issued a snow alert for Sunday as snow makes its way into the tri-state area.

The department issued the alert for Sunday, Feb 9, starting at 1 p.m.

Early predictions for the snow indicate between 1 to 3 inches.

The DSNY activates a snow alert when there is possibility of a snow event.

In preparation, DSNY personnel begin loading salt spreaders, attaching plows and preparing tire chains.
