WESTCHESTER, N.Y. (PIX11) — A five-month-old puppy is recovering after being found severely beaten inside an abandoned, squalid home in Westchester.

The puppy, nicknamed “Little Puppy” by staff at the Westchester SPCA, was found living in a filthy apartment along with two other dogs. Little Puppy had severe blunt force trauma to his head and face. His skull was partially crushed, an eye severely damaged and his wounds were infected.

Little Puppy will require extensive facial surgery, according to the staff, as well as pain management and antibiotics.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the puppy’s abuse. Anyone with information is asked to call SPCA’s confidential animal abuse hotline at 914-941-7797.
