LIRR implementing new safety regulations after Metro-North derailment

The train became stranded near the Bellerose station.

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Long Island Rail Road service between Jamaica and Mineola has been suspended in both directions due to a disabled train.

The MTA says the train became stranded just east of the Bellerose station.

Customers from the disabled train will be transferred to another train.

One rider told PIX11 she has been waiting on the stranded train for about 25 minutes.

Customers should expect residual delays.
