Driver dies, several injured after cement truck slams into Bronx house

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, The Bronx (PIX11) – The driver of an out-of-control tractor trailer died and several people were injured Monday after after he slammed into multiple cars before driving into a house, according to police.

The driver of the vehicle, a cement pumping truck, was left trapped in the cab after hitting several cars and driving into the house at 1970 Cedar Ave.  He was later pronounced dead.

Two people were taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, two others sustained minor injuries and a firefighter suffered a minor shoulder injury.

Firefighters and police are currently on the scene trying to stabilize the building and make sure no one is inside.

It is unclear what led to the accident.
