Driver turns himself in after Maryland hit-and-run that killed Westhampton Beach man

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (PIX11) A driver involved in a hit-and-run in Maryland that killed a Westhampton Beach man has turned himself in, according to police.

The man identifying himself as the driver surrendered to police around 4 p.m. Friday. Police have not revealed his name or filed any charges yet in the case.

Prince George’s County police say the crash happened early Friday in College Park. Cory Hubbard, 22, of Westhampton Beach was crossing U.S. Route 1 when police say he was hit by a blue, metallic sedan.

Hubbard was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

Hubbard was a senior at University of Maryland where he majored in Kinesiology, the study of human movement.
