NEW YORK (AP/PIX11) — Police say twin brothers from Brooklyn tried to bribe their way out of a traffic infraction using gift cards and cash.

Authorities say one brother was a passenger in a car police stopped just after midnight Sunday for not signaling a turn in the East Flatbush neighborhood.

Officers say they caught him trying to hide some marijuana.

While searching, police also found 20 Target gift cards, a $24,000 Visa gift card and 14 forged credit cards.

During the arrest, police say the man offered them $10,000 in gift cards for his release.

He called his twin brother, who showed up with an additional $4,000 in cash in exchange for his brother’s release.
The 20-year-old brothers have both been charged with bribery of a public servant.
