Times Square ‘Woody’ from ‘Toy Story’ arrested on sex charges

NEW YORK (PIX11) — A man who would dress up as “Woody” from the children’s film “Toy Story” was arrested Thursday, accused of sexually abusing several girls in Times Square.

Cops arrested Jose Vasquez, 44, while he was donning the lovable cowboy costume at about 8 p.m. in Midtown.


Vasquez is accused of sexually abusing several girls in Times Square.

Vasquez is charged with forcibly touching and sexually abusing several girls.

This arrest is just the latest in a string of Times Square costume characters behaving badly.

Last April, a “Cookie Monster” impersonator allegedly shoved a two-year-old boy because his mother didn’t tip after taking a photo.

In 2012, a rouge “Elmo” was arrested for shouting anti-Semitic slurs at children in Times Square. He later faced charges for trying extort the Girl Scouts.
