Retired corrections officer shot dead in Queens

QUEENS VILLAGE, Queens (PIX11) — A retired corrections officer was shot and killed in Queens early Friday morning after an argument.

Police say the 57-year-old got into a confrontation with a two other corrections officers, a man and a woman, on 108th Avenue near 226th Street in Queens Village at about 4:30 a.m.

The man was shot once in the chest and was rushed to Long Island Jewish Hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after.

Police are still investigating the motive for the shooting.
