THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – Two brothers died after their Bronx apartment went up in flames Thursday night.
The FDNY says the fire broke out just after 10 p.m. inside the sixth floor apartment on Grand Concourse. Firefighters say when they arrived, flames were shooting through the windows.
The two brothers, 44 and 49, were pulled from the apartment and rushed to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Although the fire was contained to just one apartment, it was a treacherous fire to fight. “It was difficult because it was a large stretch to get the hose line up there.”
Three firefighters were also injured in the blaze.
The names of the victims have not yet been released and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
