LONG ISLAND (PIX11) – Suffolk County police are reporting that east and westbound lanes on the Long Island Expressway have reopened after icy conditions caused police to close the roads Tuesday night.

Black icy and dangerous conditions caused police to shut down the LIE from Exit 68 to Exit 73 earlier in the night.

Suffolk County police were urging drivers to stay off the roads in the aftermath of a fast-moving storm that brought snow, rain and sleet.
