Hoboken lawyer shot and killed in front of wife during carjacking at Mall at Short Hills

SHORT HILLS, N.J. (AP/PIX11) —Authorities are on the hunt for two men that shot and a killed Hoboken  man in front of his wife during a carjacking at a New Jersey mall Sunday night.

Dustin Friedland, 30, and his wife were returning to their car on the third level of a parking deck after shopping at the Mall of Shorts Hills at about 9 p.m.

Friedland was shot in the head in front of his wife as they tried to enter the car. He was pronounced dead at Morristown Medical Center; his wife was uninjured.

The two men then took off in the victim’s 2012 Range Rover, which was found abandoned behind a vacant building in Newark Monday morning.
