Man shot during carjacking in parking garage of The Mall at Short Hills

PASSAIC, NJ (PIX11) – An AMBER alert has been issued for a 1-year-old boy in Passaic, New Jersey, after his non-custodial father took the boy, according to police.

The father, Tomas A. Quiles assaulted the boy’s mom at a bus stop at 33 Passaic St. in Passaic City, NJ, and grabbed the child before taking off on foot.  Police say Quiles has already sent a text message threatening suicide.  Quiles, who has a restraining order against him, is 5’9″, 190 lbs. and was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.

AMBER Alert issued for 1-year-old boy allegedly taken by father Tomas A. Quiles.

The boy, Tyrus Quiles, is described as a 1-year-old Hispanic male, 33 inches, 27 pounds wearing a red,black and white flannel coat, hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, brown shoes and a penguin winter hat.
