Man arrested on LIRR train with a stolen cash register

Cory Ford was arrested after stealing a cash register.

JAMAICA, Queens (PIX 11) — Suffolk County Police arrested a man with a stolen cash register on a Long Island Railroad train.

Metropolitan Transit Authority Police responded to a call of a man acting suspiciously on a Penn Station bound train Tuesday morning.

When police approached 34-year-old Cory Ford of Newark, they found he was hiding a cash register.

An investigation uncovered that the cash register was stolen Monday night around 9:30 p.m. from Eloisa Beauty Center in Patchogue.

Ford was charged with burglary and is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
