NEW YORK (PIX 11) — Mayor Bloomberg is trying to push through a health initiative on the dangers of headphones and earbuds before leaving office.

The $250,000 education campaign warns New Yorkers about the dangers of high volumes on earbuds and headphones.An audiologist on the campaign says iPhones and iPods are the most dangerous products on the market for your ears.

IPods can be turned up to 115 decibels which exceeds the maximum safe level of 85 decibels.

Bloomberg’s last day in office is January 1st.
