At least 1 person seriously injured in UWS apartment building fire

developingNEW YORK (PIX11) – At least one person was seriously injured in a two-alarm fire that started in an Upper West Side apartment building Monday evening.

Fire crews are currently trying to extinguish the blaze at 471 West End Avenue, near 83rd Street. Officials say the fire was on the fourth and fifth floors of the building.

One person is in serious condition at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Another was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
