After making arrests earlier this month and discovering cameras and card readers on some LIRR and Metro-North vending machines, customers are being warned.

Four people were arrested after an investigation by the MTA and Long Island authorities. They are accused of using hidden cameras and card skimmers to steal credit and debit card information.

They used the data to steal money directly from victim’s accounts. Banks have been notified says Nassau County Attorney Kathleen Rice.

Police recovered thousands of account numbers from residents all over Nassau, Queens and Westchester County.

The MTA says they have since checked every ticket machine to make sure there are no remaining cameras or skimmers.

They advise people to guard their pin number when using the machines.
