NEW YORK (PIX11) – Winds have shifted westerly this afternoon allowing temperatures to be milder than yesterday. We couldn’t get out of the 30s on Wednesday. Today, we shot up to 52 degrees.

Skies will be mostly clear tonight as high pressure is in control. Overnight lows will be at around 40 degrees. That is seven degrees warmer from where we were this morning.

Tomorrow will be a pleasant autumn day with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will continue their climb and top out in the upper 50s.

The high will slide to the southwest allowing some clouds to filter in on Saturday. The warming trend will continue and we may be able to reach 60.

On Sunday, a frontal system from the high plains will begin to approach the area. We are expecting partly to mostly cloudy skies for the day. At this point, it looks like the showers may take its time and wont arrive until the evening. Till then, it’ll be a balmy day with temperatures in the lower 60s despite having all the cloud cover.
