One of New York’s Bravest needs our help.

He needs a hero for his son, and that hero could be you.

Tim Hogan, of Engine Company 216 in Brooklyn, and wife Kathleen’s two-year-old son Owen was diagnosed with aplastic anemia in April. The potentially fatal blood condition slows the body’s production of new blood cells.

Owen has not been responding to treatments and the Hogans are looking for a perfect bone marrow match for him. A perfect match will give Owen a 90% chance of surviving; an imperfect match would give him just a 40% chance.

A bone marrow donor drive will be held Saturday, November 9th at the Floral Park Village Hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also, there will be another drive at Floral Park Bellerose Elementary School from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
