City Borough President elections: The wrap-up

Four of the five newly elected Borough Presidents are democrats.

In Manhattan, City Councilwoman and democrat Gale Brewer defeated her republican challenger.

In the Bronx, incumbent Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. won with 89% of the vote.

In Brooklyn, democratic State Senator Eric Adams defeated conservative party candidate Elias Wier.

Over in queens, voters picked former City Council member and democrat Melinda Katz.

Staten Island picked the only republican Borough President, City Council member James won 69% of the vote.
