Queens student attacked, sexually assaulted after Halloween party

KEW GARDEN HILLS, Queens (PIX11) – A college student was followed off a bus, attacked and sexually assaulted early Friday morning after a Halloween party in Queens, cops say.

The 23-year-old victim was was walking home after getting off a bus at about 4 a.m when she was attacked near 152nd Street and Melbourne Avenue near Queens College.

Authorities say a man followed the young woman, grabbed her by the throat and threw her to the ground. The suspect punched the woman and attempted to rape her, ripping her clothes off. The would-be rapist fled after a man who lived nearby heard the woman’s cries for help and called 911.

The suspect is described as approximately 20- to 30-years-old, 5’5″ to 5’8″, 150 to 170 pounds with short, dark hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt and dark jeans at the time of the attack.
