Three injured in midtown after construction awning collapses

MIDTOWN (PIX11) — Three people were injured Friday morning after a construction awning collapsed in midtown.

As strong winds associated with storms tore through the city, an awning collapsed as pedestrians passed underneath at 7th Avenue and 40th Street.


High winds are being blamed for the collapsed awning, which injured three pedestrians.

The three people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Debris from the collapsed was littered on the sidewalk after the collapse.
