Cutbacks to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP, hit millions of Americans Friday.

The $5 billion in spending cuts for food stamp benefits are expected to affect one in seven people.

Some New York City residents are among those who could be affected the most.

Over one third of Brooklyn families are enrolled in the program.

Certain sections of the Bronx have nearly half of families on SNAP as well.

Benefits per family are being cut anywhere from $10 to $30 a month.
