Leandra’s Law was named after an 11-year-old girl who was killed in an SUV crash in 2009.

Now it’s getting tougher on those who choose to drive under the influence.

The Nassau County district attorney announced today new changes will take effect tomorrow.

A couple of those include making it a felony for those who drive impaired with a conditional license.

The law will also extend the period of interlock restriction to one year from the 6-month minimum.
