Four killed in Mount Vernon house fire

developingMOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (PIX11) – Four people, including two children, were killed in an early morning house fire in Mount Vernon Tuesday.

According to fire officials, the fire started at about 3:30 a.m. at a two and half story home on South Bond Street.

Officials say three of the victims were apparently trapped in the basement apartment.

A teenage boy was also injured in the blaze and is being treated at an area hospital.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
