WALDWICK, N.J. (PIX11) — Police have arrested the ex-boyfriend of the young woman found strangled to death inside her home Wednesday afternoon, Bergen County police confirmed.

Mary Greff, 23, was found dead by her father with her infant son unharmed in his bassinet nearby. Police believe her boyfriend, 22-year-old Mark J. Spatucci, broke into her home through a second-floor window and strangled her after the two began arguing. Spatucci is the father of Greff’s 10-month-old son. Greff’s parents were home sleeping at the time, police say.

Spattuci is in custody and has been charged with murder, felony murder, burglary, endangering the welfare of a child and hindering apprehension.

Greff, who went to school in Vermont, recently moved back home with her parents.
