NEW YORK (PIX11) – The mysterious artist known as Banksy has struck again.

The latest work features a young boy swinging a hammer towards a standpipe on the Upper West Side.

Twenty days into his month-long project, Banksy’s work has appeared in various areas around the five boroughs.

The wall belongs to Designer Shoe Warehouse on West 79th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam.

Fans flocked to the painting and protected it when one man tried to spray paint over the picture.

C'mon, don't u think that there should be a dialog about more SERIOUS crimes than someone drawing pictures around the city!? Live and let live, I think they're pretty amusing if u ask me…part of why NYC is so diverse and eclectic! U should thank him for helping to make the city just that more unique!
