Woman raped at knife point in Queens

ELMHURST, Queens (PIX11) – A woman on her way home from work early Friday morning was raped at knife point in Queens, according to police.

Cops say a livery cab driver was driving near Elbertson Street and Whitney Avenue in Elmhurst at about 5 a.m. when he witnessed what he believed to be a couple having sex.

The driver became alarmed when the woman cried out for help, at which point he drove over to assist her. The suspect then fled the scene.

The woman told police she was on her way home from work at a local bar when she was attacked at knife point. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspect is described as around 5’10”, 140 pounds and was last seen wearing a black hat and black jeans.
