Norman Rockwell painting stolen from Queens storage facility

MASPETH, Queens (PIX11) —  A criminal in Queens has an all-American taste in art.

Cops say someone broke into the WelPak Art Moving and Storage facility last month and walked away with a Norman Rockwell painting.


The painting titled “Sport” was reported missing on Sept. 13.

“Sport” was featured on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post in April 1939.

It is a larger painting measuring at approximately 22 x 28 inches.

The missing oil paint on canvas is displayed in a gold wooden frame.

It has Norman Rockwell’s signature on the bottom right underneath the boat.
