Serious NJ Transit delays after falling trees down power lines amid heavy winds

Some New Jersey Transit lines are suffering delays Monday after widespread tornado warnings and heavy winds.

Bus service at the Port Authority Terminal backed up, officials are warning riders of 45-minute delays due to congestion and weather.

Along the Montclair Boonton Line trains are subject to 15-20 minute delays from Newark Broad St. to MSU/Hachettstown stations.  M & E line service is experiencing 30-minute delays due to damaged overhead wires.

On the Morris & Essex Line the Gladstone Branch rail line is suspended between Stirling and Gladstone.  NJ Transit is cross-honoring with Lakeland bus service.

NJ Transit is cross-honoring bus, rail and light rail passes and encouraging customers to use good travel judgement and monitor for scheduling information.
