NYPD officers’ cancer rates skyrocket post 9/11

The cancer rate for cops has jumped heavily in the decade following the September 11th attacks.

A new NYPD study shows there’s been a ten-fold increase in cops diagnosed with thyroid cancer and non Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The data included cops who worked at ground zero… And other dangerous sites like Staten Island’s Fresh Kills landfill.

A chief surgeon for the department says the full results will not be released for another few months.
