More than 15 million people suffer from food allergies. Many are diagnosed at birth, some much older. Either way, those who are affected can be allergic to just about anything.

Nine-year old Parker Press is allergic to peanuts. Aaron Weinback, 8, is allergic to a host of foods including, eggs, nuts and mustard.

Saturday in New Rochelle, hundreds of people showed up to support  the Food Allergy Research and Education Walk or F.A.R. E walk in Westchester. The Westchester walk has raised about $300,000 for research. Dr. Hugh Sampson, Chair of the F.A.R.E Advisory Board said, “It is important to get people to understand food allergies are not just a few hives, it is serious and a reaction can cause death.”

Eleven-year old Sam Posner and his family walked. Sam has also started a project that will spread awarness about food allergies. After participating in the two-mile walk, families enjoyed food, activies and information sessions.
